Scroll down for an UPDATE on GRACE… It’s a PRAISE!

5/8/12 Debbie (Utah) is having an 8-10 hour surgery tomorrow (Wednesday). Please pray for her safe keeping, complete recovery, wisdom for the medical team, and an extra measure of peace knowing that God is in control!

5/3/12 The son of one of our CCF Contributors is serving in Afghanistan in the combat zone. Please pray for him and all the men and women of our armed forces for their protection, health, and God’s guidance through these perilous times.

5/3/12 Please pray for the family of Elizabeth (48) who passed away two weeks ago from lung cancer. Up to her dying breath, she never complained of her lot in life (and through her life she had many) and always had a smile on her face, praising God through it all.

6/21/11 Debbie (60) lives in Arizona and has had spells of fainting most her life, but it has become a real concern when she was thought to have had the symptoms of mini strokes this past week. She has high blood pressure (though now stabilized), diabetes (will need to take insulin), and has had at least one stroke, maybe more. Update: the left side of her body is mostly paralyzed and was transferred to a rehab hospital where they will do intense therapy. Her doctors are now very interested in finding out why she faints so frequently and easily. UPDATE 7/30/11 – Debbie has made major improvements in some areas. Still mostly paralyzed on the left side, but some movement is returning. She continues to sing God’s praises in any circumstance.  UPDATE 8/4/11 In rehab. Debbie’s limbs are starting to move again (actually walked 150 ft. using a walker). UPDATE 9/10/11 Debbie is getting weaker and weaker and I suspect her whole body is shutting down.  She has never lost her sense of humor. It will truly require a miracle for her to be even able to go home at this point.  Her husband did a super job of caring for her at home but is emotionally fragile as this has truly stressed him.  UPDATE 10/3/11  Debbie has now had 2 strokes, and had carotid artery surgery all in the past 2 months. She is at a skilled nursing facility doing rehab.  They are not yet talking about sending her home or when that will happen.  Physically she is getting around fairly well, tho she does not have much use of her left arm.  Most days she is mentally sharp during the day, but still gets confused at night. Thanks for your continued prayers! UPDATE 5/3/12 Debbie continues to have struggles, with a significant seizure before Christmas (is now on seizure medication) and she got the shingles.

6/1/11 Grace is a sweet 5th grade student and has been treated at Children’s Hospital with both chemo and radiation for brain cancer following surgery that didn’t get it all. This week she will begin 8 months of chemotherapy that will be even more difficult for her than the chemo she has already had. She has lost so much weight already and appears so frail. Please keep Grace and her parents, Karen and Jeff, in your prayers throughout this time. UPDATE 10/4/11 Grace is starting chemo cycle 2. Each cycle has 3 main treatments spaced 6 weeks apart with less harsh weekly treatments in-between the 6 week major infusions. The plan is for three cycles with the last ending in May 2012. After each of the major 6 week infusions she feels bad for about 3 days, then 8-20 days later the chemo works its way into bone marrow and brings her blood counts down extremely low. High fever and nausea set in and we usually end up in the hospital for 4-5 days. This is a normal reaction for most. Then the remainder weeks are for her to recover so she can tolerate another treatment. Grace hasn’t been going to school due to high fatigue, she is doing the best she can with a home teacher every day for 2 hours. Grace is trying to get off the feeding tube, she has made good progress slowly eating meals on her own. She may try a week on and off the tube for a while, but as the chemo continues it has a cumulative effect on appetite and fatigue. UPDATE 5/1/12 After months of chemo the Dr. decided she’d had enough, she  had a very slow blood count recovery since her last treatment.  Grace had her Quarterly MRI  and check up. All went well and the scan was good with no sign of tumor.  Grace had her planned surgery  to remove her IV port. They are now focusing on Physical Therapy, gaining weight and strength.  She has started back to school half days.  She has to take a daily medication for 2 years that makes her chronically tired, but they say that should wear off over time. Praise God for all His blessings!, and thank you for your prayers for Grace and her family!

4/24/11 – Brittany (ending her freshman year in college) has a brain tumor. She has frequent episodes of passing out and really bad headaches. She and her family have talked to many doctors. UPDATE 5/11: More history / tests are needed, but Britt’s family feels very hopeful that she is seeing the right doctor and will get the much needed treatments for her condition. UPDATE 10/26/11: Had an EEG but the results have not yet been released. UPDATE 4/30/12: Britt entered the hospital Thursday, April 26th for a battery of tests to determine the exact cause by putting her into situations that would bring on her symptoms. The latest word we got, was that nothing could be found and it appears that God miraculously healed her through the prayers of many, in particular, friends who prayed over her in a special service. We are praising and thanking God for everything He is doing in Britt’s life and are anxious to see His plans for her! Thanks for your prayers!
