12/10/11 We lift up Tricia who is expecting a baby boy around Valentine’s Day 2012. She has been on depression medicine but just found out that the kind she was taking (at the dosage she was taking) could cause problems for the baby. Please pray that she and her husband will welcome a healthy baby in February and God would heal Tricia of her depression. Thanks!
11/23/11 Please keep in your prayers, TJ and his wife Lindsey. TJ struggles with health issues related to his end stage renal failure (kidney disease). Please pray for God to give him a long life on this earth – for healing for his kidneys, for cysts on his kidneys to be benign, for his blood pressure to go down, for his energy to go up and for his wife’s health as well. Lindsey struggles with Crohn’s disease. Please pray for them in this first year of marriage, for God to bless them, and their request is that God would give them a baby. (Doctors say probably impossible.) But we are thankful that nothing is impossible with God! Thank you God for your great mercy in allowing TJ to live this long! PRAISE! On-going prayer request.
11/21/11 from Leslie: My 86-year-old father is going in to the hospital on Wednesday (11/23/11) to have the battery replaced in his pace maker (first time since he received it 11 years ago). I think we are all a bit anxious about it and will be glad when it’s over. He is suppose to be home for Thanksgiving. My other request is for my son-in-law; I don’t really know what’s going on but wonder if there might be some depression. He is completing his Masters and is just struggling right now. I’m not sure how or why, but I do know he has a great faith and will feel the comfort of our prayers. Thank you so much! How wonderful it is to be able share my burden and have friends available to help.
11/4/11 from Ruth: I hate to ask prayer for myself when so many others have a great need. I am requesting prayer for healing on my body. I have neuropathy in my feet and hands which is very painful. I am a secretary and to type some days is more than my fingers can bear but I continue through the pain. Some nights I walk the floor all night because of the pain in my feet. It takes over my personal and work life. I want to so much enjoy my children and grandchildren. Even as I write this I feel God’s love. Thank you for your prayers and God Bless. This is a wonderful website that I found through a christian radio station.
11/4/11 from Marlisa: I went through a divorce after 30 years of marriage. It has been 4 1/2 years now on my own and have lost my job. Please pray that I will find a job and be in the place that God wants for me. I know I may be facing another move … just want God’s will in my life.
10/21/11 Jennifer has asked for prayer for her husband, Robert, who is seeking employment in the legal field. They are new to the Colorado area so please keep both of them in your prayers as they adjust to a new lifestyle and find a job. UPDATE 11/17/11: Praise! God provided Robert an awesome job in the Denver area! Thank you for your prayers!
10/17/11 from Tony: pray for my wife, a child of a divorce, divorced herself once before, and now putting us through a divorce and ending what I thought was our storybook love of two soulmates coming together for life. Our 6 year old daughter and myself are both confused as to why her love became anger and hatered… prayers for us to find peace of mind in this dark time are appreciated too.
6/21/11 Debbie (59) lives in Arizona and has had spells of fainting most her life, but it has become a real concern when she was thought to have had the symptoms of mini strokes this past week. She has high blood pressure (though now stabilized), diabetes (will need to take insulin - her blood sugar is not yet under control), and has had at least one stroke, maybe more. Update: the left side of her body is mostly paralyzed and was transferred to a rehab hospital where they will do intense therapy.
Her doctors are now very interested in finding out why she faints so frequently and easily. They want to know if there is an underlying cause that has gone undetected. (There is some plaque build-up in her carotid arteries, but not enough to warrant surgery.) UPDATE 7/30/11 – Debbie has made major improvements in some areas. Still mostly paralyzed on the left side, but some movement is returning. She continues to sing God’s praises in any circumstance. UPDATE 8/4/11 In rehab. Debbie’s limbs are starting to move again (actually walked 150 ft. using a walker) and has come quite far but still has a ways to go. Keep praying for her complete recovery.UPDATE 9/10/11 Debbie is getting weaker and weaker and I suspect her whole body is shutting down. On Friday, September 16, it will be 2 months since her first stroke. She has never lost her sense of humor. It will truly require a miracle for her to be even able to go home at this point. Her husband did a super job of caring for her at home but is emotionally fragile as this has truly stressed him. She was transferred to another rehab facility. She just got health insurance about 2 yrs ago, another blessing for them. ”My prayers are for miraculous healing, whether that be here or in heaven, and for her family to accept whatever the Lord has in store for her.” UPDATE 10/3/11 Debbie has now had 2 strokes, and had carotid artery surgery all in the past 2 months. She is at a skilled nursing facility doing rehab. They are not yet talking about sending her home, have no idea when that will happen. Physically she is getting around fairly well, tho she does not have much use of her left arm. Most days she is mentally sharp during the day, but still gets confused at night. Took her to bingo at the facility last week and she just could not focus on that and understand the process. The facility just happens to be literally across the parking lot from my church, so I wheeled her over to Bible study twice last week, which she loved. She fell asleep half way through, but talked about how ‘normal’ it felt to do that!! and shared with her caregivers how much she enjoyed it! She has her down days, which have been quite a few recently, unfortunately. Thanks for your prayers!
6/1/11 Grace is a sweet 5th grade student and has been treated at Children’s Hospital with both chemo and radiation for brain cancer following surgery that didn’t get it all. This week she will begin 8 months of chemotherapy that will be even more difficult for her than the chemo she has already had. She has lost so much weight already and appears so frail. Please keep Grace and her parents, Karen and Jeff, in your prayers throughout this time. UPDATE 10/4/11 Grace is starting chemo cycle 2. Each cycle has 3 main treatments spaced 6 weeks apart with less harsh weekly treatments in-between the 6 week major infusions. The plan is for three cycles with the last ending in May 2012. After each of the major 6 week infusions she feels bad for about 3 days, then 8-20 days later the chemo works its way into bone marrow and brings her blood counts down extremely low. High fever and nausea set in and we usually end up in the hospital for 4-5 days. This is a normal reaction for most. Then the remainder weeks are for her to recover so she can tolerate another treatment. Grace hasn’t been going to school due to high fatigue, she is doing the best she can with a home teacher every day for 2 hours. Grace is trying to get off the feeding tube, she has made good progress slowly eating meals on her own. She may try a week on and off the tube for a while, but as the chemo continues it has a cumulative effect on appetite and fatigue.
4/24/11 – Brittany (ending her freshman year in college) has a brain tumor. She has frequent episodes of passing out and really bad headaches. She and her family have talked to many doctors and now has an appointment on May 16 at 1:30 p.m. with a top notch neurologist here in Colorado (God’s hand was all over this) and will determine a course of action at that time. UPDATE 5/11: More history / tests are needed, but Britt’s family feels very hopeful that she is seeing the right doctor and will get the much needed treatments for her condition. UPDATE 10/26/11: Had an EEG but the results have not yet been released.
3/09/11 We’ve been praying for little Noah because of his food allergies since birth (born September 14, 2010), but please keep his daddy, Paul, now in your prayers. He went in for an emergency appendectomy just over a week ago and while in surgery, the surgeon found a tumor attached to the appendix and colon. The biopsy came back cancer and he’s only 26 years old. They believe they got it all and further tests showed it had not spread to his lymph nodes. However, he will see a oncologist to see where he goes from here. Please pray also for his wife, Jen, whose mother has been battling stage 3 or 4 breast cancer. Update 4/24/11 Paul’s reports were good in that the doctors believe they got all the cancer, but because of the type of cancer he had, he will be undergoing chemo, beginning in May. Update 4/11/11: Paul begins chemo treatments this week (Wednesday) and will be going in every two weeks for the next 6 months. Please continue to pray for Paul through all of his treatments and that the cancer will not return. 11/4/11: Paul just finished his last chemo treatment and is celebrating. Thanks for all your prayers!
